Wind Post

Wind Posts are a structural element made of galvanized or Stainless steel that can be installed during the construction of masonry walls to increase wall panel’s lateral stability against horizontal forces, mainly imposed by wind, crowd or handrail loads.

Wind posts span vertically between floors then fixed with specifically designed top and bottom connection plates to suit most requirements – e.g. fixing to the underside of the concrete floor slab at the top and the top of concrete floor at the bottom, wind posts may be used for example in the centre of a long solid panel of masonry.

At TATE-STEEL we manufacture a wide range of wind posts with a variety of top and bottom connections to choose from to suit the requirements of your build. The wind post can also be supplied with a pack of masonry ties to tie the post into the masonry wall mortar joints.
